Film is increasingly employed as a fundraising tool. One
obvious reason is that a film manages not only to inform, but also to
involve the audience emotionally. Another is that since the organisation
takes part in outlining the content of their film, they are able to
accentuate specific problems and achievements that will contribute
positively to finding fundraising sources. Showing the success of your
existing projects will inspire potential donors to support you in new ones.
From the point of view of the prospective donor,
familiarising him or herself with your organisation through the medium of
film is not time consuming and will make your work more real to them.
Last but not least, videos are not yet used routinely in
fundraising activities which means that by illustrating your work in this
way, your organisation will stand out from others competing for the same
funds.
